November 2020 Book Club: Chris & Matt hold their breaths and dive deep to join the Second Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe in a harrowing underwater battle as we review the Past Doctor Adventure “The Final Sanction” by Steve Lyons.  First published in July 1999, the book was the last to use the “frosted” film logo and is long out-of-print, available from fine second-hand bookshops.

October 2020 Book Club: Matt & Chris take one giant leap through a time portal back to 1934 and join an expedition on a mysterious Polynesian island as we review the missing Third Doctor, Liz Shaw, & UNIT adventure “The Eye of the Giant” by Christopher Bulis.  First published in April 1996, the book is out-of-print and is available second hand from fine used bookstores.

September 2020 Book Club: Chris & Matt find themselves incarcerated with the 12th Doctor & Clara on a prison asteroid in the far future, as we review the Doctor Who novel “The Blood Cell” by James Goss.  First published in September 2014, it’s still available digitally as an e-book - and also as an unabridged audiobook read by Colin McFarlane.

August 2020 Book Club: Matt & Chris dust off the TARDIS Timer to bring you a review of  “Short Trips and Side Steps,” which was the third & final book in the original “Short Trips” anthology range.  This collection was published by BBC Books in March 2000 and features 21 short stories - or 24 depending on how you count them - and was edited by Stephen Cole & Jacqueline Rayner.

July 2020 Book Club: The Seventh Doctor, accompanied by Benny, sees what it’s like to be a human schoolteacher in 1914 - while trying to avoid a power-hungry alien family in pursuit!  Chris & Matt review “Human Nature” by Paul Cornell, originally published in May 1995 as part of the New Adventures line.  The novel was republished in 2015 as part of the History Collection and is available digitally on iBooks, Kindle, etc.  An unabridged audiobook, performed by Lisa Bowerman, is available on CD & download (iTunes, Audible, etc.)  This story was also adapted as a Tenth Doctor two-part story for television in Series 3.

January 2020 Book Club: Chris & Matt welcome in a new decade & continue their mini-adventure through various spin-off ranges.  This month, we’re reading the mind & space bending “Dead Romance” by Lawrence Miles, which is both a Bernice Summerfield & Faction Paradox novel (set in London 1970) and first published in March 1999.  While the original book is long out of print, there is a Kindle version available for purchase, courtesy of Mad Norwegian Press, which features three bonus short stories.
